Policy Updates
- Please complete a report in the MOD section of the Database for all emergencies, behavioral issues, staff-related issues, supply needs and consent-related issues.
- Also, all MODs should complete a End of Shift report with a summary of major events that occurred during your shift. (Even if there’s nothing significant to report “NSTR”)
- Unless a Member is flagged as “Minor administrative” or as “Banned/Deny Access”, Gatekeepers should make not of who the member is and then discreetly notify the MOD that there’s a flag.
- For minor admin issues (like an overdue library book) the Gatekeeper can remind the member to return the book.
- For banned/deny access issues, the Gatekeeper should go to the MOD and let the MOD inform the member that they are not allowed access.
- There will be no photography in the Dungeon area during Members parties unless expressly allowed in the event writeup.
- We may start having events that specifically allow photography, but for now, no exceptions.
- Members should check in with the DM for any scene they are planning (Not just edge-play)
- DMs may recommend an area to set up their scene, but if a Member declines the recommendation, they may be the ones interrupted if their scene begins to encroach on the scenes of others.
We define edge play as any form of play that could near-instantaneously lead to loss of life, limb or eyesight. The following are not allowed at Fusion parties:
- Singletails
- Fire play
- Anything involving fire with an accelerant (ie. alcohol)
- Wax play with an open flame is not “fire play”
- Blood play
- Includes piercing, cutting and deliberate blood letting.
- Suspension
- Knife play
- Dull knives to remove wax aren’t considered edge play
- Breath play
DM discretion still applies, but DMs should be basing their decisions on this criteria.
We are considering establishing a policy in which no volunteer may consume alcohol or play before or during their assigned shift. This is still under discussion. This policy will greatly impact 2nd shift volunteers and we are considering that all 2nd shift volunteers will earn a free party (or 20 points) for any 2nd shift worked as an incentive.
The current policy is that DMs may not consume alcohol or play before or during their shift. MODs and Gatekeepers are expected to be mindful of their limitations and act responsibly with their decisions around play and/or alcohol.
Volunteers earn points for every shift, volunteer training and cleanup they attend. Volunteers may use these earned points for:
- Parties (1 point = $1)
- A $20 party will cost 20 points
- Rentals (1 point = $2)
- A $20 rental will cost 10 points
- Voodoo Retail Items (1 point = $0.50)
- A $20 T-Shirt would cost 40 points)
We have set this up this way because some things are much easier for us to give away at a discount. Door fees and rentals are easy enough to do, but retail gets expensive as we often pay in advance for those items.
Smoking is still allowed out front, away from the door way, but we are encouraging Members to smoke out back when possible. We do not currently allow reentry through the back door on Party Nights (for security reasons) and Members will need to reenter through the front door.
In and out access is allowed during non-Members-only events. (Classes, workshops, discussion groups, etc.)
During Parties, Members may have limited food and beverages (snacks, sodas, coffee, water, adult beverages) in the play area, but full-sized meals should be consumed in the social area.
At the beginning of the shift, the MOD should set the lighting and music based on the intent of the party. It’s up to the MOD to change the music if needed, requested and/or appropriate to do so.
Lighting schemes are:
- Red – Dungeon Party
- Blue – Tastings Party
- Purple – Fusion Party
- Green – Social (No Play)
